Administrative Coordinator

Schedule type: Full-time, non-exempt position (40 hours/week)

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, Greater Los Angeles Area office (CAIR-LA) is looking for a passionate and talented individual to fill the Administrative Coordinator position. Join one of the most dynamic teams defending civil rights on behalf of the American Muslim community, promoting civic engagement, and building coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Donor Relations:

     

     

     

    • Manage the donor database and general donor relations
    • Record and receipt incoming donations and pledges
    • Send end of the year statements to donors
    • Prepare financial reports with detailed information for accounting
    • Prepare mailing lists for appeals and events
  • Administrative:

     

     

     

    • Coordinate with IT contractor for staff’s IT needs
    • Coordinate logistics for staff and Board meetings
    • Handle incoming phone calls and greet guests
    • Maintain minutes of meetings
    • Coordinate with staff for day-to-day office needs
    • Coordinate with property manager for building maintenance
    • Coordinate ticket sales for fundraising events
    • Manage volunteers for specific project

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with minimum 1-year experience in an administrative role
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs and Raiser’s Edge (preferred)
  • Basic computer maintenance knowledge and ability to learn basic server and networking skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and an ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with staff, community leaders, volunteers, and donors in a professional and effective manner

Compensation:
