Anna is American-born of Taiwanese descent. Born and raised in San Jose, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Santa Clara University. With a background in Japanese language and culture, she spent one year as a foreign exchange student at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. After a childhood with experience in playing violin and taiko (Japanese drums), she established her career as a member of San Jose Taiko and Miyarabi Taiko.
Having retired from her career in music, she converted to Islam in 1997. After marriage and having two boys, she travels to Jordan often, so their sons can maintain relationships with their relatives there. Having served on the board of directors for the Blossom Valley Muslim Community Center, then a hiatus of a few years, she is once again serving on their board. She also tutors math privately.
Anna is looking forward to participating in CAIR activities and reaching the broader community.
