Azeem Sattar is a seasoned technology leader with over two decades of experience building and scaling large-scale payments platforms and leading high-performing engineering teams. He currently serves as a Senior Engineering Manager in Payments Engineering at Airbnb, where he leads critical initiatives across global money movement, payment processing, and financial reliability at scale.
Before Airbnb, Azeem held the role of Director of Payments Engineering at eBay, where he was responsible for major payment modernization efforts, platform scalability, and cross-functional leadership across product, risk, and compliance teams. His career has been deeply rooted in payments and fintech, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and operational excellence.
As a Bay Area resident for over 25 years, Azeem is also deeply committed to community service. He has served the local nonprofit Tawasaw for more than five years in multiple capacities, including volunteer, technology advisor, and board member, helping advance its mission through both strategic leadership and hands-on support.
In addition to his technology leadership, Azeem is a co-founder of Serene Equity Investments, a riba-free real estate investment company. Through Serene Equity, he focuses on ethical, values-driven real estate investing that aligns financial growth with long-term community impact.
