Learn traditional Palestinian embroidery with Badan Collective and hear updates on CAIR-LA’s Palestine advocacy.
This event is an advanced-level class ideal for students with some embroidery experience (such as having sewn in a button before), or for those who already practice tatreez and are seeking to elevate their skill.
During this hands-on, interactive workshop led by Bayan Fares, founder of Badan Collective, we will dive into the history of Palestinian textiles and learn the mechanics of cross-stitching. At the end of the workshop, students will get to take home their finished piece!
The cost of your ticket includes event registration and an embroidery kit. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the event.
*This is an advance-level class. Students must have some prior embroidery experience to join.
Friday, June 12, 6–9 p.m., Barakah Cafe (9752 13th St., Garden Grove)
