Thank You for Attending CAIR-LA’s 27th Annual Gala!

More than 1,500 community members, partner organizations, religious leaders, elected officials, dignitaries, and supporters gathered at the Anaheim Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 23, to attend CAIR-LA’s 27th Annual Gala, themed “The American Muslim Story: Our History, Our Vision, Our Legacy.”

The event raised $573,000 in support of CAIR-LA’s vital civil rights, immigration, and advocacy efforts.

The evening, emceed by CAIR-CA Board Member Khulood Madany, showcased inspiring speeches from prominent figures within the American Muslim community.

Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz, a renowned author, activist, and daughter of Malcolm X, delivered the evening’s keynote address. Her speech captured her late father’s legacy and the incredible impact his life continues to have on the lives of American Muslims as we each create our own stories.

CAIR-LA presented Legacy of Service awards to Imam Abdul Karim Hasan, Director of the Masjid Bilal Islamic Center, and the late Dr. Ahmad Sakr, a distinguished American Muslim leader.

Comedian Preacher Moss delighted the audience with humorous anecdotes about his own American Muslim journey as a convert to Islam.

As we look forward to the year ahead, we would like to thank our sponsors for their ongoing support and express our gratitude to all of you who continue to make the work of CAIR-LA possible.

We would appreciate your honest feedback on your experience attending our 27th Annual Gala. We will use your ratings constructively to improve our standards.

Help Us Meet Our Goal

CAIR-LA’s annual gala not only serves as an occasion to celebrate our community’s collective achievements but also provides vital resources to fund our continued advocacy and activism for the upcoming year.

We are very grateful to those who attended our sold-out event on Saturday. The attendees and earlier pre-gala contributions helped us raise a generous amount, but we are a bit short of our gala goal of $650,000.

We invite you to make a generous contribution toward our Gala Fundraising Campaign to raise critical funds that will contribute directly to our gala goal. Your support will enable us to ensure a meaningful gathering and amplify our efforts in safeguarding the civil rights of Muslims in the U.S.
