Deena Kamel joined CAIR-LA in September 2018 and serves as its Policy & Advocacy Coordinator.
Her responsibilities include monitoring and advocating for or against policies affecting the American-Muslim community, establishing and strengthening relationships with government officials, civically engaging the community and building coalitions with other organizations.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside. She gained valuable experience in activism with the Students for Justice in Palestine at UC Riverside, the Muslim Student Association at UC Riverside, the Emerging Leaders Council in Moreno Valley, the Associated Students of Moreno Valley College and Perris Masjid Youth Group.
She is excited to use the insight she has gained to serve and engage with the American-Muslim community.
