Edreace Purmul is an award-winning independent filmmaker and non-profit director. Bringing more than 12 years of non-profit management and 15 years of filmmaking to his role, Edreace is driven to provide a strong narrative for the work of CAIR-LA. Purmul graduated from San Diego State University’s Film and Business schools in 2006. He started in satellite broadcasting as a film editor, and later wrote and directed his first award-winning feature film “Mozlym” post-graduation. His micro-budget feature film “Mozlym” received immediate international acclaim and interest for its controversial and socially conscious appeal and competed at festivals internationally. Edreace concurrently worked for multiple non-profit community centers; developing departments as director of operations. Purmul later released his second feature and multi-linear thriller “The Playground”. Critically acclaimed, “The Playground” won San Diego’s Best Feature Award at the San Diego Film Awards, earned KPBS Cinema Junkies “Recommends” spot, and received coverage and praise locally from CityBeat Magazine and CBS 8 News.
