Salma Nasoordeen

Youth Coordinator

Salma Nasoordeen is the Youth Coordinator at CAIR-LA. She is a second-generation Sri Lankan and a proud Anaheim native. Salma is an OCS Alumni and a Fountain Valley Highschool (FVHS) graduate. There, she spent three years of her high school career volunteering and serving as Activities Coordinator, VP, and President. In her last year as president, she helped rebuild the Highschool MSA which has now around 40 incorporated MSA chapters. 

Salma graduated from California University of Fullerton (CSUF) with a bachelor’s in Human Communication Studies. While serving the community as a Youth Coordinator, she is also a volunteer at Islamic Institute of Orange County. She also spent some years serving the community as an executive board member in various roles at Muslim Inter-scholastic Tournament (MIST) and continues to be an active member of Muslim American Society’s Youth Committee.

Salma is passionate about community building, tarbiyah (development), and youth development. In her spare time, she plays video games on her PC and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
