Taqi El serves as the Civil Rights Coordinator for CAIR-LA. In this role, he provides legal and administrative support to further CAIR’s efforts to enhance the understanding of Islam and promote justice. Prior to joining the legal team, Taqi served as a legal assistant for a nonprofit organization to preserve and enforce the rights of underrepresented citizens. After graduating from Emory University’s paralegal program and working for a personal injury law firm, he transitioned to CAIR-LA’s Civil Rights Department.
Taqi brings in more than 10 years of combined experience in the areas of legal research and writing, client correspondence and business administration. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is studying at Maharishi International University to earn his M.B.A., with an emphasis in Pre-Law.
Outside of his work with CAIR and graduate studies, Taqi enjoys good food, relaxation and fun in the sun.
