“It is a very sad day for all of us,” said Laboni Hoq, litigation director for Asian-Americans Advancing Justice. at a news conference called Tuesday morning in the Anaheim office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
The decision, Hoq added, “flies in the face of our values as a nation.”
Mohammad Tajsar, an attorney with the ACLU of Southern California called the ruling “a devastating day in the history of this country.”
“It is a stark reminder that … the history books that tell the stories of America’s shameful past have yet more chapters to be written.”
