Many of our Muslim brothers and sisters in the prison system are often forgotten in addition to the countless difficulties they face while being incarcerated. If you are interested in helping CAIR-LA establish more mentors and chaplains to work in local prisons, you are encouraged to attend a training session at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1 at our office.

Muslims in prison face critical and unmatched obstacles, their inability to practice their faith chief among them. Muslims make up about 9% of state prisoners despite representing only 1% of the U.S. population.

Anyone 18 and older is encouraged to get involved. The CAIR-LA office is located at 2180 W. Crescent Ave., Suite F, in Anaheim.
