Today, Donald Trump expanded the list of countries on his Muslim Ban. The new additions include Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania. They join Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, North Korean and Venezuela on the banned list, a cruel act Trump initiated during his first week in office three years ago. Of course the reason Trump is singling out many of these countries is because they enjoy Muslim-majority populations.

Trump’s racism toward Muslims in the U.S. and worldwide continues his pattern of Islamophobia and hate that we can no longer tolerate. Here is what CAIR-LA is doing to protect your rights:

Our Immigrants’ Rights Center attorneys and Policy & Advocacy Department are tirelessly fighting for the rights of individuals impacted by these acts of cruelty and discrimination.

We are working with members of the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the NO BAN Act introduced by Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.), which would undue the significant harm caused by the Muslim Ban.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. elegantly stated, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Your tax-deductible donations of at least $25 will allow us to provide legal assistance to those affected by the Ban, to lobby lawmakers for legislative change and to continue to hold Know Your Rights seminars throughout the community.

Help us eliminate these intolerable acts targeting Muslims everywhere.
