On June 4, Los Angeles City Council Members Eunisses Hernandez and Nithya Raman introduced a resolution calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, safe passage for humanitarian aid into Gaza, and condemning all forms of hateful rhetoric, including antisemitism, Islamophobia, and anti-Palestinian hate.
The Ceasefire Resolution is currently under consideration by the City Council Rules Committee. If it does not pass the committee, chaired by council members Paul Krekorian (CD2), Bob Blumenfield (CD3), and Marqueece Harris-Dawson (CD8), it will not proceed to a full council vote.
At this time, Council President Paul Krekorian (CD2) has not announced his support for the resolution.
