(12/2/2015) ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — The brother-in-law of Syed Rizwan Farook, one of the shooting suspects in San Bernardino, spoke at a press conference Wednesday evening held by the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Farhan Khan, who is married to Farook’s sister, spoke on behalf of his family in Anaheim.
Khan said he last spoke with Farook about a week ago and said nothing seemed out of the ordinary, and that his brother-in-law actually seemed very happy.
Farook and Tashfeen Malik had a baby girl about six months ago and Khan said they took the child to a relative’s home Wednesday morning and dropped her off.
Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told ABC News the suspects told their family they had a doctor’s appointment.
During the press conference, Khan said he was in “shock.”
“I am very sad, deeply sad and shocked something like this happened here in my community. I love this country, I’m living in this community for a long time and something like this happened here,” Khan said.
