On Saturday, June 30, 2018, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Sacramento Valley chapter (CAIR-SV), will join a massive Families Belong Together & Free rally at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services building in Sacramento.
The event is organized by Elena Perez, communications coordinator at Service Employees
International Union-United Healthcare Workers West, and Dennessa Atiles of The Resistance Sacramento/Elk Grove. As of Thursday afternoon, 19 groups had signed up on Facebook to be co-hosts of the weekend event, including CAIR-SV.

“What began as a protest of the zero-tolerance policy has become a protest of the abhorrent
treatment of migrants under this administration. We will not tolerate children remaining
separated from their families and the Supreme Court upholding the discriminatory Muslim Ban,” Perez said. “We will stand together to say we are not going away.”

More than 2,000 people have RSVP’d via Facebook to say they’re attending the Sacramento rally.
