(SACRAMENTO, CA, 7/9/20) – The Sacramento Valley office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SV) today condemned white nationalist flyers that were posted in Placerville.

On Tuesday, business owners in downtown Placerville found signs promoting a white nationalist blog and podcast along with posters saying, “It’s okay to be white,” plastered on their storefronts.

Police are investigating the incident.

In a statement, CAIR-SV Executive Director Basim Elkarra said:

“We condemn the posting of these flyers promoting the dangerous white nationalist agenda. As the nation confronts its legacy of systemic racism in a civil rights movement led by the Black community, it is critical that we call out hate, bigotry and xenophobia. We urge law enforcement to investigate this incident to the fullest.”

CAIR-SV is an office of CAIR, America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice and empower American Muslims.
