Welcome Corps is a very exciting program that was just rolled out earlier this year. As it grows, day-to-day Americans will be able to supplement and strengthen existing governmental and nongovernmental refugee resettlement efforts.
Please refer anyone interested in directly assisting newly arriving refugees to these resources.
At the moment, sponsors cannot select the refugees who they want to assist but that phase of the program will go into effect later this year.
The application process does entail several steps (like forming a private sponsorship group of at least 5 adult LPRs/USCs and raising $2,375 per refugee), but it is straightforward and laid out well on the Welcome Corps website.
