On Tuesday, April 2, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, released its annual civil rights report during a news conference at its Capitol Hill headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Titled “Fatal: The Resurgence of Anti-Muslim Hate,” the report documents the worst wave of anti-Muslim bigotry witnessed in its 30-year history. CAIR’s new civil rights report, which examines this rise of incidents in the context of the domestic fallout of the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, details the various lived experiences of Muslims in America both during and before this time. The report offers multiple recommendations for public officials to consider in light of new data findings.

Local Muslim advocates convened for a press conference on Tuesday, April 9 at 11:00 AM at the CAIR-SD office to address the rise in Anti-Muslim incidents taking place in San Diego County.

Speakers included local clergy, community advocates, students, parents, and representatives from the Council on American Islamic Relations-CA, San Diego.
