Dear Young, Muslim Leader:

CAIR-California is looking for the brightest and most passionate high school students to apply to this year's Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP).

What is MYLP?

  • Hands-on training in civic engagement and media advocacy
  • Insight and career advice from top executives in these fields
  • Meet other ambitious Muslim students from across California and become more confident in your American Muslim identity
  • Debate legislation during a mock session on the Senate floor
  • Learn how to become agents of positive change in your community

When is MYLP taking place?

Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2, 2015

Who can apply to MYLP?

This program is open to students who will be high school sophomores, juniors, seniors and first-year college students in Fall 2015

Because of US unconditional support, Israel does not abide, nor respects any law.

Over 100 Muslim organizations sent a letter to Gov Over 100 Muslim organizations sent a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom, Senator Alex Padilla, Senator Laphonza Butler and other elected officials demanding that they call for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire to end the brutal violence in Gaza that has killed over 12,300 innocent Palestinians. As of Nov. 22, only three California congress members have signed onto the Ceasefire Now Resolution.
In a statement, CAIR-CA CEO Hussam Ayloush said:
“Our joint letter is a collective cry for justice for the over 12,300 Palestinians who have been senselessly murdered in Israel’s ruthless assault of Gaza. It echoes the sentiments of one million Muslims in California and millions of others who value justice and peace nationwide—a national majority support for a ceasefire cannot be ignored."
The recent news of a temporary ceasefire is a first sign of hope and will undoubtedly save the lives of countless Palestinians in the coming days, but the work is not done. CAIR-CA continues to call for a permanent ceasefire, an end to the genocide, and freedom, justice, and dignity for the Palestinian people.
