CAIR San Francisco Bay Area is recruiting for a highly motivated candidate for its Development Coordinator role. The position will be responsible for executing the organization’s fast-paced and community focused fundraising efforts. 

Schedule Type: Full-time (Non-exempt). Occasional evenings and weekends required. 

Location: Based in CAIR’s Santa Clara office. CAIR-CA staff are currently working a hybrid schedule, with three days in-person and two days remote.  

Requirements: Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area (vehicle and driver’s license required); authorization to work in the United States.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Development Manager  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Steward donors through regular communications, donor appreciation, and follow up 
  • Coordinate and draft fundraising mailers and online giving campaigns 
  • Coordinate expansion of existing monthly donor program 
  • Coordinate special events such as informational dinners 
  • Coordinate corporate matching program 
  • Partner with colleagues across CAIR California and the broader CAIR network on shared resource development 
  • Work with the Development Manager and Executive Director to research and apply for potential funding opportunities and track and submit grant reports 

Other duties as assigned, dependent on organizational needs and employee skills. All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, and other office tasks. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Fund development experience, specifically in grassroots, community-focused fundraising efforts  
  • Strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with outstanding attention to detail 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with stakeholders 
  • Basic computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat 
  • Cultural awareness of and sensitivity to the diverse Muslim community 
  • Highly motivated, self-initiating and energetic 
  • A strong commitment to civil rights and CAIR’s mission 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working in a masjid, MSA, or other non-profit organizations 
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks and Network for Good 

Compensation 

  • $27-$34 commensurate with skills and experience
