June 12 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Al-Aqsa has been attacked, residents of Sheikh Jarrah are being expulsed and Palestinian children have been killed, but in response, Palestinians and our community have responded valiantly. We have stood up, mobilized and pushed back against the settler-colonial project of Zionism. Our efforts are working and we have seen public discourse changing and even politicians starting to talk about upholding Palestinian rights. For too long, US military aid to Israel has been unconditional, but the tide is changing!

Of course, it is also important to recognize that Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, Anti-Blackness and all kinds of hate and racism have no space in our discourse and it is our duty to stand firmly against it. However, when we see the accusation of Anti-Semitism being weaponized and attempts being made to conflate our struggle for rights of the innocents: we must learn to challenge this narrative and be equipped to move beyond it with wisdom. In addition, we must learn how to avoid being a propagator of hate including Anti-Semitism which may inadvertently enter our discourse through outside media and influence.

Please join Wendy Greenfield (Jewish Voice for Peace) and Prof. Dr. Hatem Bazian (Islamophobia Studies Center) to learn more in a virtual session organized by ICNA Council for Social Justice – San Francisco Bay Area Chapter along with our partners and allies.

With the on-going struggle for Palestine cause most of us are involved in protests, advocacy, civic engagement and rallying allies, this session gives us the tools and means to plan for building the long term strategy. Please share this invitation with other activists and join us:
