Phone Bank to Get out the Census Count!

Inform and engage community members about the ongoing 2020 Census! Help us remind people of how they can make sure that they and those who live with them are Counted in for research, vital federal funds, and fair representation in Congress.

The Census, which does not ask about anyone’s citizenship status and which is used to create anonymous aggregated statistics, is accessible to everyone and it’s important that every person in our community is aware and takes this once-a-decade action to invest in our communities’ health, safety, and welfare. For each person who is counted, we gain at least $10K in federal funding for programs such as CHIP (low-cost health insurance for children), hospitals, SNAP, WIC, schools, housing and more.

WHERE: From your own home! Due to the current Shelter in Place requirements, we will be coordinating remote phone banks where we will begin with a short video chat to touch base and review steps to successfully use a CAIR-provided script to call and inform the community.

WHEN: We will be phone banking twice a week. Please RSVP!

WHAT TO PREPARE: Your cell phone. Names and numbers, as well as a script for you to use, will be provided by CAIR.

SIGN UP: If you are not already one of our Civic Engagement Champion volunteers, please be sure to register at bit.ly/cechampions. (Please allow at least 48 hours for your registration to be processed leading up to the event.)

Join us and help empower our community for the next ten years and beyond!
