To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of a dear partner to CAIR-SFBA and former CAIR-LA board member, Hammad Alam.

Hammad, who was raised in Southern California and a member of the Rancho Cucamonga Muslim community, served as a Staff Attorney and Program Manager in the National Security and Civil Rights program at Asian Law Caucus, where his work centered on fighting the Muslim Ban, combating the federal Countering Violent Extremism program, and similar surveillance and criminalization initiatives targeting Muslims and other immigrants and communities of color.

We pray to Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Forgiving, to grant Hammad mercy, forgiveness, and Jannah, and we pray that Allah gives his family patience, strength, and reward for their patience as they deal with this difficult loss. Special prayers for his parents, wife, and infant girl.

6330 Eagles Nest Rd., Sacramento.
