Amina Abid is the Operations Director for the San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA). In this position, she manages staff, human resources, finances, and the office operations and organizational planning. Amina maintains fundraising and donor engagement efforts. She has also managed and executed signature programs including the Muslim Youth Leadership Program, Muslim Day at the Capitol, and the Annual CAIR-SFBA Banquet.
While Amina’s academics focused on the design of civil structures, her passion lies in protecting the civil liberties of her fellow American Muslims. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, she worked with the San Diego and Bay Area Muslim Communities in various capacities as an Events and Programs Coordinator. Throughout her activism, she has worked with numerous organizations including: the Muslim Student Association (MSA) West, local MSA’s, the Muslim American Society, Islamic Relief and masjids. Amina joined CAIR-SFBA as the Operations Coordinator in March 2011.
