Musa Tariq is the Policy Coordinator at CAIR-SFBA. In this position, he will foster and sustain meaningful relationships with federal, state, and local policymakers and elected officials regarding CAIR’s priority issue areas, as well as utilize community input on policy priorities.
Musa graduated from UC Davis with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Religious Studies. He previously interned with CAIR National in Washington DC, and is a graduate of CAIR-CA’s Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP) and Muslim Gamechanger Network (MGN) programs, in 2015 and 2016, respectively. He was also a former youth speaker with Islamic Networks Group (ING), where he spoke and presented at numerous events in schools, churches, and libraries about the basics of Islam and anti-discrimination.
He hopes to utilize his experience to address and achieve meaningful policy changes to empower and protect American Muslims. Outside of CAIR, he enjoys metal music, drumming, and spending time with his two cats Bambi and Stripey.
