Perihan Abdelbaky

Immigrants' Rights Attorney

Working at CAIR-SFBA had always been a goal for Perihan since moving to the Bay Area in 2007 when she attended her first CAIR gala.

Perihan is originally from Cairo, Egypt. After graduating from the American University in Cairo with a degree in Psychology and Islamic Art and Architecture, she moved to the US to pursue a graduate degree in Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience at New York University. Upon the completion of her graduate degree, Perihan worked in various research labs both in NY and CA.

In 2012, Perihan decided to change her career goals 180 degrees and started law school at Lincoln Law School of San Jose, pursuing her JD degree part time while also taking care of her family full time. Perihan graduated Valedictorian of her class in 2017 and soon after passed the California Bar Exam to become a California licensed attorney.

Upon graduation, Perihan worked with various judges in criminal court and in Family court in Santa Clara. She worked exclusively as a family law attorney for the past five years. Perihan believes that access to legal help and resources should be a right, not a privilege, and endeavored to help indigent clients with domestic violence cases, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and asset division.

In her spare time, Perihan loves watching soccer and is an avid F.C.Barcelona fan. She also loves spending time with her family and her three cats, hiking, pilates and yoga classes, couch sitting for long periods of time, and eating lots and lots of chocolates.
