The San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA) is hosting virtual candidate forums this week for Pleasanton City Council and Fremont Mayor and City Council District 6.

At the forum happening later today at 5 p.m. for Pleasanton City Council, members of the Muslim community will hear from confirmed candidates including Valerie Arkin, Jack Balch, Randy Brown, Jarod Buna, Zarina Kizilgolu, and Chiman Lee.

Tomorrow, October 21 at 5:30 p.m., members of the Muslim community will hear from candidates running for Fremont Mayor and City Council District 6. Confirmed candidates for Fremont Mayor include: Vik Bajwa Singh, Chris Hampton, Naz Mahika Khan, Lily Mei, Marlene Santilli, and Justin Sha. Confirmed candidates for District 6 include Yogi Chugh, Teresa Cox, Charles Liu, Andrew Quang Nguyen, and Roman Reed.

“This election may be one of the most important in recent years, and COVID-19 related health guidelines are changing how we educate and mobilize voters. Our candidate forums and related events have been hosted entirely virtually this year to provide an opportunity for voters to ask questions and meet with the candidates who will serve their community,” said CAIR-SFBA Government Relations Coordinator Sameena Usman.

CAIR-SFBA has previously hosted candidate forums for races in Sunnyvale, San Ramon, Santa Clara, Dublin, and Oakland.
