The San Francisco Bay Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SFBA), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today welcomed the Trump administration’s decision to print 2020 census forms without a citizenship question.

In response, Zahra Billoo, Executive Director of CAIR-SFBA said:

“Many of our partner organizations have worked long and hard, utilizing advocacy, litigation, and organizing to ensure the proposed citizenship question was scrapped. We are grateful for them.

“This series of victories protecting the integrity of the census is a win for our democracy. The census will now more accurately count every person and ensure marginalized communities have access to the resources and representation they deserve.”
