The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today issued a statement responding to the planned vote on a House resolution condemning anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry.

In a statement, CAIR said:

“All Americans should support statements denouncing anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry. Unfortunately, this resolution was introduced to silence legitimate criticism of domestic support for the discriminatory and segregationist policies of a foreign government that receives billions of American taxpayer dollars. We welcome changes to the resolution made in response to criticism by grassroots coalitions and voices of conscience within the House.”
