Eight different community groups, committed to protecting civil rights, are hosting a virtual candidate forum tonight at 7:00 p.m. for candidates running for Santa Clara County Sheriff.
Confirmed candidates are SCC Sgt. Christine Nagaye, retired SCC Sheriff’s Captain Kevin Jensen, Palo Alto Police Chief Robert Jonsen, and SCC Sheriff Sergeant Sean Allen. Moderating the forum will be Dr. William Armaline, founder of the Human Rights Minor Program, Director of the Human Rights Collaborative, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at San José State University.
At the event, candidates will answer questions submitted by community members and sponsors of the forum: ACLU of Northern California – Santa Clara Valley Chapter, Asian Law Alliance, Black Leadership Kitchen Cabinet, Coalition for Justice and Accountability, CAIR San Francisco Bay Area, La Raza Roundtable, San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP, and Silicon Valley De-Bug.
