In a historic vote last week, the House of Representatives voted in favor of repealing President Trump’s Muslim Ban. Although no one expects the current Senate to pass the legislation, the 233–183 vote in the House marked a major symbolic victory for the American Muslim community.

After years of protesting in the streets and lobbying in the halls of Congress, legislators who represent tens of millions of Americans announced their opposition to perhaps the most visible symbol of anti-Muslim bigotry in our times. The vote also hopefully set our country on the path to repealing the ban one day in the future.
