“After the election I’ve felt a strong need to stand up for all the members of our community, not just for the people that are exactly like me,” said Erica Rios of Palo Alto, who participated with her mother, Veronica Rios. “I’m here to do the right thing.”
There have been more than 100 anti-Muslim attacks since Trump’s victory, according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and over 700 incidents targeting different minority groups have been documented by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
