Alhamdulillah, last Friday, CAIR-SFBA and the Muslim Community Association (MCA) were happy to celebrate the graduating class of the fourth Bay Area iteration of the Muslim Gamechangers Network (MGN) program.

Program participants hailed from high schools across the Bay Area including Lynbrook, Irvington, Mission, Cupertino, Averroes, and Washington along with various other locations. For three months, the students attended weekly interactive sessions hosted at the MCA to learn the tools that will equip them to become strong community advocates. They learned about subjects ranging from American Muslim history to combating stereotypes, the concepts of power and privilege, economic justice, and engaging government and media outlets effectively. They received training from leading activists and community leaders from across the San Francisco Bay Area, including:

  • American Muslims for Palestine
  • Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus
  • MPower Change
  • Services, Immigrant Rights, and Education Network

Thank you to the MCA for hosting the program, our donors whose support made the program possible, and the dedicated students who came back week after week to learn and grow together.

Stay tuned for information about our next round of MGN and how you can be a game changer!
