David is the Managing Attorney for the Immigrants’ Rights team at CAIR-SFBA. In this position, he is responsible for supervising a team of attorneys, Department of Justice-accredited representatives, and other caseworkers, as well as managing CAIR-SFBA’s immigration caseload.
Previously, David had an eighteen-year career in the federal government, adjudicating and working on policy and information support for refugee and asylum applications, in Washington D.C. and worldwide. He is deeply committed to a fair and humane immigration system and to the rights of all immigrants. He holds a JD from Georgetown Law.
Outside of work, David reads, watches movies (his undergraduate major was film, and he can get TMI on this subject), bikes, and generally explores wherever he happens to be at the time. He speaks Japanese in a way that is really impressive to people who don’t speak Japanese, French in a way that offends the ears of French people but is not that bad actually, restaurant Russian and Uber driver Spanish.
