(LOS ANGELES, CA – 11/2/2021) – OnWednesday, Nov. 3, theLos Angeles chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations California (CAIR-LA), along with California Attorney General Rob Bonta, will hold an in-person press conference to announce the opening of the Center for the Prevention of Hate and Bullying(CPHB).
For 25 years, CAIR-LA has been addressing incidents of hate and school bullying through its legal, programmatic and communications work. The goal of the center would be to lead multifaceted efforts and strategic planning on combatting growing hate crimes and bullying plaguing the Black/African, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian (BAMEMSA) community.

CAIR-LA, along with the additional three chapters that comprise CAIR California, recently released its2021 Bullying Report, which showed thatthe highest-ever percentage of Muslim students (55%) feel unsafe in school.
CAIR also offers a booklet, called“An Educator’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices,â€designed to help school officials provide a positive learning environment for Muslim students.
CAIR-LA is Southern California’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice and empower American Muslims.
