California’s State Assembly is a state-level government body responsible for creating state laws and setting financial priorities through the state budget, operating alongside the California State Senate to form the California State Legislature.

Working with the Senate and the Governor to approve and manage California’s State budget, allocating funds to various programs and initiatives.
Ensuring a system of checks and balances between the Assembly, the Senate, and the Governor.
Addressing legislation on issues around Healthcare, Education, Social Services, Environmental Policies, and more.
The California State Assembly plays a crucial role in the state’s Legislative Branch, overseeing legislative and budgetary matters like healthcare, education, and environmental policies. It upholds checks and balances, represents its constituents, and serves as a foundational element of democratic governance and public policy in California.
Members of the California State Assembly are elected by voters within their districts and serve two-year terms, with terms lasting no more than 12 years.
