Bilal Zaheen

Bilal Zaheen is an Aerospace Engineering Manager serving as the lead quality assurance and material engineering management representative for the West Coast branch of STS Metals, one of the largest suppliers of titanium and nickel superalloy forgings in the aerospace industry. He is the principal materials engineer for structural and engine raw material hardware designated for aerospace programs such as the Boeing 787, Boeing Space Launch Systems, SpaceX Falcon, and other vehicles. He is a voting member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, where he provides technical counsel on titanium, nickel, and steel superalloy material specifications, which are used as the basis for the manufacturing of airframes and jet engine hardware.

Bilal received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Long Beach State University and his Masters in Engineering Management from Auburn University, with a focus in Systems Engineering. During his college tenure, he served as the President of the Muslim Student Association, Senator of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Vice President of the College of Natural Sciences Student Council.

Outside of his professional life, Bilal is heavily involved with the Southern California Muslim community, particularly in the South Bay. He has previously sat on the board of directors at the Islamic Center of Hawthorne and was a focal representative for interfaith activities and outreach operations. Bilal was also a former instructor at the ICH Weekend school and the SEEDS program in Torrance, CA. He is also the President and co-founder of Learning Assistance for Muslim Progression (LAMP), which seeks to provide academic support and scholarship assistance to high school and college students in the Muslim community.

Bilal has served as a regular khateeb for over 10 years in Southern California and regularly delivers Friday sermons at the Islamic Center of Hawthorne, the Islamic Center of South Bay, and the Masjid Umar ibn Al Khattab at USC.
