Dear Community Members,
In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to partially reinstate the Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban, attorneys from Greater Los Angeles office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA), Public Counsel, the ACLU, Immigrant Defenders, One Justice, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (AAAJ-LA), and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) will be stationed at LAX today, Thursday, June 29, 5:00 P.M. PST when the Muslim ban is expected to take effect.
Attorneys will be assessing any impact on travelers who are seeking entry into the United States through Customs and Border and Protection at LAX.
Here is the community advisory on the Supreme Court's Decision on the Muslim Ban 2.0 we sent out earlier this week on everything you need to know about the ban and it's implications.
If you or someone you know is seeking legal assistance with travel, please provide the details of your complaint/consultation request by filling out the form Travel Reporting Form.
If someone is currently being held or detained please call us at: 714-776-1177.
Note: Due to the volume of civil rights complaints we receive, CAIR-LA’s policy is to respond to all non-urgent messages within five business days. If we deem this to be an urgent matter, someone in our civil rights department will attempt to contact you by the end of the day.
As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
