CAIR has always believed that in order to secure a brighter future for our communities, investments must be made in empowering our youth with the tools to become the leaders of tomorrow. Through its programs, CAIR aims to equip youth with the proper training and support to become agents of positive change.


The Muslim Youth Leadership Program is an intensive, four-day retreat in Sacramento designed to introduce American Muslim high school students to the areas of media, law, and government where professionals have oportunities to shape public opinion and public policy.


The program takes place in Sacramento. Over the course of MYLP, you will:

  • Gain in-depth understanding of California’s legislative process.
  • Receive hands-on training in the areas of civic engagement and media advocacy.
  • Improve your networking skills.
  • Visit Seattle’s top law, media, public relations firms, and in government offices.
  • Gain insight and career advice from top executives in these fields.
  • Discover internships and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Meet other ambitious Muslim students from the California area.
