From the Chinese Exclusion Act to the Muslim Ban: We are still Here to Stay!

Named “enemy non-aliens” (native-born Americans of Japanese ancestry) and “illegal aliens” (Mexican Americans), and now, “terrorists” (Muslims Americans) – the truth is that too many of us have been treated as Alien Americans. Co–counsel in the precedent-setting U.S. Supreme Court asylum case, INS v. Cardoza–Fonseca (1987), Bill Ong Hing is coming to speak with a multi-cultural panel (Japanese, Mexican, and Muslim America) to uncover how we can continue to stand against civil liberties violations today.

A light reception with refreshments will follow the hour-long event.

Cost: FREE to the public, RSVP required
TO RSVP: Contact publicprograms@jamsj.org, (408) 294-3138
