Dear friends.
In the past month, we have heard from many of you. The question on everyone’s mind is how you can use your legal expertise to help targeted communities post-election and during the next administration. During his campaign, Donald Trump made many alarming promises and statements that target our vulnerable communities; since his election, he has surrounded himself with advisors and nominees with racist, Islamophobic records that seem bent on effectuating those promises.
To those ends, we want to make sure we are taking the post-election energy and channeling it into preparing for what is to come. Over the next few months, we will offer several trainings on specialized issues impacting Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern, Sikh, and South Asian Communities. The first of these presentations launches on Monday, December 19 and will feature Mike German – a former FBI agent and currently a fellow at the Brennan Center for Justice.
We hope you will join us and invite others also. Additional information and the registration link are included below.
Sincerely,
Elica Vafaie & Christina Sinha, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Asian Law Caucus
