Omar Altamimi is a Policy and Advocacy Coordinator for the Sacramento Valley/Central California office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-SVCC). In this position, he increases the effectiveness and efficiency of CAIR-SV/CC’s legislative advocacy effort and works to build more community power.
Omar studied Political Science and Religious Studies at UC Davis. He began organizing and advocating for students when he entered college which led him to an internship at CAIR where he worked to encourage Muslims to vote, worked on voter education during an elections cycle, and worked to engage Muslims across the state with CAIR’s work.
Outside of work, Omar enjoys reading, sports, and discovering new coffee spots in the city.
