Over the weekend, we hosted a virtual political education and leadership building program called the Muslim Youth Leadership Intensive (MYLI). This program took the place of the annual Muslim Youth Leadership Program (MYLP), held at the State Capitol in Sacramento which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MYLI was designed to equip Muslim high school students across California with the necessary skills to establish and execute organizing projects that empower their communities. During the past weekend, youth were given the opportunity to develop their skills and learn how to make a real impact in their communities.

48 of the top applicants in each region of California attended interactive workshops on topics such as the spiritual and sociopolitical foundations of organizing, understanding systematic oppression and change, and leadership ethics.

CAIR-SFBA continues to adapt its work, supporting and defending our local community amid this crisis. While we recognize that this is a difficult time for so many people, we are asking for your assistance so that we can sustain our renewed strategies.

Help us meet our goal to raise $10,000 to sustain and grow CAIR’s youth empowerment work.

Your gift of $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250, $100, or any amount, will enable us to build our Programs Department by hiring a Youth Coordinator and reinforce our youth programs such as Muslim Gamechanger Network and Muslim Youth Leadership Program in 2021.
